recommendations. Adventure Time: Distant Lands, Adventure Time:
Fionna and Cake, At Last the 1948 Show, Aunty Donna's Coffee Cafe,
Birdgirl, Do Not Adjust Your Set, Gen V, Man to Man with Dean
Learner, The New Pope, The Patrick Star Show, Rick and Morty: The
Anime, Ripping Yarns, Rutland Weekend Television, Soul Quest
Overdrive, The Spoils Before Dying, W / Bob & David, The
Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball, and The Xtacles to name a
handful.
TV movies, pilots, and specials are all disqualified, so here's some projects that didn't make this list:
Jena
Friedman has two TV specials in her Soft Focus (2018) series that are the
closest things you find tonally to her show True Crime Story:
Indefensible, her standup, and confrontational yet humorous interviews
like you might find in Da Ali G Show or Who is America?
Bryan Fuller has an
incredible track record. However, there's some pilots of his that weren't
picked up. Check out The Amazing Screw-On Head (2006), High Moon (2014), and Mockingbird Lane (2012).
Dan Harmon co-created the '99 cult classic pilot Heat Vision and Jack.
Tom Kenny did voicework for Korgoth of Barbaria (2006), a Mike Lazzo produced cartoon that Adult Swim didn't feel
they could justify the price tag for at the time. Tom Kenny was also
in the improv TV movie / inside joke that not quite everybody was in
on, Windy City Heat (2003).
Bob Odenkirk did a post-Mr. Show pilot
called Next! (2001) and also developed the Derek and Simon (2005) webseries.
Scott Aukerman and Zach Galifianakis co-created the webshow Between Two Ferns.
The exciting conclusion, next time on 420 Weird Shows.
There we go, my G.O.A.T TV show. Did you watch it back in the day then?
